Black Love
About Us

ENCOURAGE
We have been together for 15 years and just recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with our nearest and dearest. The celebration really left a mark on our guests and had an atmosphere that we were inspired to recreate again and again to celebrate black love!
The Black Love Couples Club was founded by David and Laurina Mullings. The initiative was born out of a desire to see more of, encourage and inspire unapologetic black love. In a society where black couples are seen as an endangered species and where we very rarely receive any positive coverage from the mainstream media, we aim to create spaces and events where black couples can date, socialise, grow, learn, be valued and be seen.

Black Love
Whilst there is no definitive definition of Black love,
as a movement, we have defined it as:
What is
Black Love?
Acknowledgment and an understanding of the requirement to make sacrifices, an unspoken connection that requires resilience in a world that is not always kind to black men and women. Black Love is passion, empathy, a covering of each other – in prayer and in principle, having each other’s backs through the thick and thin. Black Love is a healthy depiction of relationships, breaking the stereotype, defying the odds, constantly finding new ways to love the same person over and over, and believing in your happy ending.
